Alyssa Shenk has gratefully called Snowmass Village home for the past 21 years. She grew up in Columbus, Ohio, and fell in love with Snowmass at the age of 12, when her family first visited for a ski holiday. Alyssa has an undergraduate degree in political science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a law degree with a specialization in dispute resolution from The Ohio State University. She is married to Ben Genshaft and they have two wonderful children—Sophie, a sophomore in college, and Eli, a junior at Aspen High School.
Alyssa is the chairperson of the Northwest Colorado Council of Governments (NWCCOG) and a Roaring Fork Transportation Authority (RFTA) board member. In addition to her work on the Snowmass Village Town Council, Alyssa proudly works for Pathfinders, a local non-profit providing grief, loss, and serious illness counseling to individuals and families from Aspen to Parachute. Over the years she has also devoted a tremendous amount of time to the community through volunteer work, including at the Aspen School District, DonorDirect, College Outreach, Aspen Family Connections, the Aspen Jewish Congregation, and 17 winters as a Snowmass Mountain ambassador.
